Travel Journal – November 30, 2013
It’s surreal, my dreams and planning are starting to come together today as I travel to Montana, the “Big Sky Country” to establish my future home base and apply for my much revered Montana automobile driver’s license.
My Sister and Brother-in-law picked me up at my apartment in Southern California late on a warm afternoon. We are off to the beach house they rented for the Thanksgiving holiday in Seal Beach, California. There I will be spending the evening and night for an early departure North.
Shortly after arriving I was assigned a room and settled my stuff quickly. I hadn’t visited with them for some time so we did some catching up and decided to have an early dinner.

It was a short drive to Walt’s Wharf restaurant in Seal Beach near the beach on Main Street. They have enjoyed dinner at this nautical beachy-style restaurant many times, but for me, it was my first visit. I ordered the Fish and Chips. I was not disappointed, a very tasty choice.
After enjoying our meal and some good conversation, we headed back to the house for a VERY short night!
I awoke sleepy but somewhat refreshed at 2:30 AM. By 3:00 AM we were on our road trip in pursuit of Montana Big Sky. It was an exciting time for me as my dreams turned into reality. Sitting in the back seat of their Ford Diesel 250 4 x 4 truck, watching the story unfold before me.
More to come soon, safe travels…Gary

Not sure how I landed on your blog…either way excited for your take off. Checked your bucket list…we are right by Ft. Morgan. But Ft. Pickens is ten times betters…and camping and a much better beach. Get in Loop A for more room. I have some post about it. Nice Montana posts…

Thanks for stopping by my blog and the suggestion-compliment. I have been following your blog for a while now along with others to get ideas of the life style and travel suggestions. My plan is doing the South Eastern United States in the Spring of 2015. My first year I will stay here on the Southwest and Northwest USA. I added your suggestion to my Bucket List. I will definitely check it out when I am in that area. Look forward to interacting here and maybe meeting you both someday out on the rode.
