Tennessee Travels

“You know Jagger, I really enjoy the drive east, but I am ready to stop somewhere for a while.” We have now been traveling three weeks, stopping along the way for a few days at times, to get the “flavors” of the areas that we touch. That has been nice, but there is just so much to see and experience. As much as travel inspires me, I need to focus on an area to really appreciate it.

Stop! – Turtle Crossing

Later that day, Jagger and I drove to the market and on our way back went to the Lake Onapa, which was only a short 1/2 mile drive. “Turtle Crossing” ahead and yes I see it Jagger. Oh there are several little guys making their way across the street.

The Hot Rubber Flew

I thought I had been shot. I look to the left while starting to apply my brakes at a steady rate. At the same time I turn on my emergency flashers as the Workhorse and Coach strained to slow down while maintaining its trajectory…

Off to Benson

After almost four hours we pull in the Butterfield RV Resort. We check in and pay for a couple of nights and pull the Coach over to our new site. The park looks pretty deserted. All of the Snowbirds have flown the coop!

Surfs Up – Returning to Old Memories

It seems as if we are only at our O’Neill Camp for a heartbeat and it’s time to move again. Something I told myself I would stop doing was moving so much, but being here in Orange County the “budget model” of traveling required some of that. As a result of some of my appointments, it required me to extend my stay here in OC. Now a difficult scheduling job was compounded.

Happy New Year 2015

This past year was an accelerated learning experience for me and the learning isn’t over. I have enjoyed the transition into retirement very much, considering I was a workaholic most of my life. I think what made the difference is I tried something new, “Full Time Rving”.
