“You know Jagger, I really enjoy the drive east, but I am ready to stop somewhere for a while.” We have now been traveling three weeks, stopping along the way for a few days at times, to get the “flavors” of the areas that we touch. That has been nice, but there is just so much to see and experience. As much as travel inspires me, I need to focus on an area to really appreciate it.
What Google didn’t know is somewhere on the road was a piece of metal roughly 1/2″ x 3/4″ that was sharp. It punctured my tire. Just as I pulled out onto a highway…
Later that day, Jagger and I drove to the market and on our way back went to the Lake Onapa, which was only a short 1/2 mile drive. “Turtle Crossing” ahead and yes I see it Jagger. Oh there are several little guys making their way across the street.
I thought I had been shot. I look to the left while starting to apply my brakes at a steady rate. At the same time I turn on my emergency flashers as the Workhorse and Coach strained to slow down while maintaining its trajectory…
After almost four hours we pull in the Butterfield RV Resort. We check in and pay for a couple of nights and pull the Coach over to our new site. The park looks pretty deserted. All of the Snowbirds have flown the coop!

It seems as if we are only at our O’Neill Camp for a heartbeat and it’s time to move again. As a result of some of my appointments, it required me to extend my stay here in OC. Now a difficult scheduling job was compounded.
We woke early the morning of September 7th to partial clouds. Jagger I started the day by going for our morning walk, usually not more than a mile or so. The weather was looking somewhat unpredictable, but still a beautiful morning.
Utility Loom under the Kitchen slide. This is a bridge for electrical lines and has broken once before. Bretz RV in Missoula, MT did a haphazard repair that I had to pay for and now it’s broke again.
This past year was an accelerated learning experience for me and the learning isn’t over. I have enjoyed the transition into retirement very much, considering I was a workaholic most of my life. I think what made the difference is I tried something new, “Full Time Rving”.
‘Twas a cold winters morning and the puppy was still snoring, while visions of goodies pranced in his head. I too was sleeping when suddenly I awoke to a small soft steading beeping. What, not Santa’s Reindeers, so where was this beeping from?
I wake up in Island Park, Idaho at a great RV park with room for Jagger to run close by at Lake Henry BLM area and the Sawtelle National forest, right across the street. This morning we are lounging around, recuperating from the drive here yesterday and the setup of our camp. […]
