I wasn’t sure how long I was going to be waiting for the new tire to be mounted. So I left for the tire store, leaving my buddy, Jagger behind…
Later that day, Jagger and I drove to the market and on our way back went to the Lake Onapa, which was only a short 1/2 mile drive. “Turtle Crossing” ahead and yes I see it Jagger. Oh there are several little guys making their way across the street.
I thought I had been shot. I look to the left while starting to apply my brakes at a steady rate. At the same time I turn on my emergency flashers as the Workhorse and Coach strained to slow down while maintaining its trajectory…
After almost four hours we pull in the Butterfield RV Resort. We check in and pay for a couple of nights and pull the Coach over to our new site. The park looks pretty deserted. All of the Snowbirds have flown the coop!
In come the slides, up come the stabilizers. All hatches, cabinets and vents closed and secured. I move the Workhorse into position and a catastrophic failure happens…
Strolling down the main road in town you can image what it was like so many lifetimes ago.
A little precarious at times, not only from the rough road needing a high clearance vehicle, but a couple of very steep drop off’s if you miss a turn.
I needed to make sure the Coach would fit the narrow driveway and approach to the site where it would park the next few weeks.
