About the Workhorse

I looked a long time at which truck to buy.  Studying the different payload configurations is confusing and critical.  Not only does it change for different makes of vehicles, but different models too.  Of course, everyone thinks their Make and Model is the best, but a lot is a personal preference.

The Workhorse

I chose the 2013 Ram 2500 Crew Cab, 4×4 with a 6.7 Cummings Diesel engine.  It seemed to be the best match for the Gross and pin weight of my Coach.  If I went with a Ram 3500 or a Ram 3500 with dual wheels, it would have worked but would have been more expensive to operate. Currently, I average 18 mpg, but I can get up to 21 mpg on the road.  When pulling my Coach I average 11 mpg.

After being on the road for a short time, I felt a name would be appropriate for my fifth wheel and truck. First I named the fifth wheel “Coach” as in a stagecoach. That made the name of the truck easy, my Workhorse!
